Performance Management

Perhaps you’ve already produced the appraisal/performance development review systems, have the documentation or on line system in place, produced the policies and procedures – and are now looking to get the ‘buy-in’ or commitment from your people.

Or – you’re just starting out on the performance management road, you haven’t got this far and need help with producing the strategy, documentation, policy and procedures.....

Or – perhaps you’ve got all this in place, and the output from your performance system has identified teams or individuals who you want to develop further.  This may be to become high performing teams or certain individuals have been recognised as high potential, but you're unsure how to do this......

Any of this sound familiar?

At PMR Training and Development, we pride ourselves on helping organisations achieve excellent performance management systems, from design through to delivery.  We believe that if your people are performing well - then so will the organisation.

But what is Performance Management?  Armstrong and Baron, two leading experts in this area, define Performance Management as:

“A process which contributes to an effective management of individuals and teams in order to achieve high levels of organisational performance.

As such, it establishes shared understanding about what is to be achieved, and an approach to leading and developing people which will ensure that it is achieved.”

In our opinion, the key area in this statement is '......shared understanding....'.  From the individual, right across the organisation the key is that everyone knows what they should be doing, how they should do this and how well they are meeting what's required.

1. - Design, Strategy, Policy, Procedures.

If you are just starting out on the performance management journey, or have chosen to improve the one you have - then you may need help, for example, with the design, format, strategic overview, administration and formal setting up of the process.

PMR Training and Development have a wealth of experience in this area, and will work with you to ensure that your performance management system fit seamlessly into your organisation’s structure.

2. - Communication, Understanding and Roll-out.

If you have completed the strategy, policy and procedures (with or without our help) then you will need to ensure that you gain ‘buy in’ and commitment from your staff as to the possible benefits of the process.  We can offer help and guidance with your communication plan/strategy, for example.

In addition, we can develop and deliver (or train your key people to deliver) performance management workshops that can be rolled out in preparation or as on-going programmes, in order to ensure that your people fully understand the benefits of the system, and how to use this to its maximum potential.  We will ensure that this all fits into, and compliments, your company values and culture.

3. - Development.

Conducted correctly, a good performance management process will help identify where you need to target your development – either at improving the performance of a team or specific individuals.  We can develop workshops and programmes targeted at the development areas identified, from soft-skills, management and leadership development through to high performing teams.

For individual development, we have a number of development strategies ranging from psychometric assessments though to executive coaching and mentoring.  We will work with you to ensure that these development needs are met.

How we can help

There are three main areas that, as Performance Management specialists, we work on.  These can be conducted separately, or as a whole.

Please don't hesitate to contact us, where we would be happy to discuss your requirements further.
